It's Been a Monday

The Princess started off with a typical Monday. Her car broke down on her way to work.
She had a brisk walk back home this morning, a little less than 3/4 of a mile. But we still got her to work on time,,,,zoom zooooom
What a way to start the day.




I got one of those missed calls today,,some number I don't know.

I figure it wasn't important, or they'd left a voicemail.
My little bluetooth thingy was blinking abnormally and when I pushed the button on it, my phone called Pops.


I know Pops is usually laying down resting or napping about that time so I tried to stop the call. His phone only rang once but he could see it was me and called me right back.


We yakked for a bit, then he asked me,,,,
"Did you get that email I sentcha about old farts?"
I told him I hadn't checked my mail,,,then saw that it was in there,,,
He said...... "I really like that"


So we yakked a bit more then said our goodbyes
and I opened that email............


 I saw the picture below and kinda thought wtf ? Then ,,,

I saw some teenage boy (young man) walk along the edge of the yard, coming from the back yard.....
I'm not used to that,,so I was quick to jump up and find out who's walking in my yard.
He's says he lives up the hill, and I think he probably does. He'd come down thru the right of way the electric company had cleared for the lines.
I don't have a problem with that, and he was nice enough. But if something comes up missing ,,,what am I suppose to think now ? Hmmmmmmmm ?? I didn't say that to him.
 So anyway I come back in and went to the next email,went out and messed with the Princess's car,,,went and got The Princess from work, came back home and started looking thru my email again.


I start on the newest and work my way back down to Pops "fart email",,,,and again I'm like why does he like this,,,then I scroll down lower and there's some really cool things about "old farts",,,,My Pops is an old fart, and he's the coolest "old fart" I know.
I love ya Pops,,,Hopefully I grow up to be just like you.

         I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it.


        Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see. Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the  Star Spangled Banner. Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment.  They know the words and believe in them.


         Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal , Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War , the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam .


         If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.


         Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, 
when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

         Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they 

don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.


         Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. 

They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.


         It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politician's, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.

         This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Thank God for Old Farts Pass this on to all the Old Farts you know.
         
        I was taught to respect my elders. 
It's just getting harder to find them.
